We are a full-service mobile DJ entertainment company. Our staff of music mixologists is highly experienced in weddings, corporate events, teen dance parties, family celebrations and kids parties. We also have a nightlife division that offers club DJs, karaoke and music-video mixing.

Based in Princeton area of Central New Jersey, Ambient DJ performs across the state of New Jersey, as well as in eastern Pennsylvania and New York City.

We have performed at many of the Tri-State area’s most exclusive venues, including The Nassau Inn, Grounds for Sculpture, the Hamilton Manor, The Merion, the Mansion at Voorhees, Clark’s Landing, The Mill at Spring Lake, The Smithville Inn, the Stone House at Stirling Ridge, the Liberty House, The Tides Estate, the Elkins Estate, the Morris Arboretum, and many more.

On the business side, we strive to provide the most responsive and stress-free customer service to our clients. Emails and phone calls are answered within 24 hours (generally sooner), and we guide you through the party planning process from start to finish in a collaborative discussion.

Our company is based upon a deep love of music and top notch musical programming across diverse genres. Rather than using cookie cutter playlists and routines, our music mixologists work closely with each client to craft a unique and memorable event.

Ambient DJ is also a multi-year, consecutive year winner of the WeddingWire Bride’s Choice awards, reserved for the top 5% rated wedding vendors nationally as ranked by past clients.

Ambient DJ spends thousands of dollars annually on upgrading its music and music video collection, both in terms of current and classic content. We do NOT use illegal filesharing sites, primarily as we seek to reward musicians for their artistic creations. Of course, our legal music collection also offers better sound quality and is virus-free.

Our DJs bring approximately 50,000 songs to a given party. Our music library spans from the Big Band era to the hottest current dance music. We will purchase (at no additional charge to our clients) any songs on their playlist that are not currently in our music library.

Having a large music library is not necessarily impressive. Similar to a painter, it is not how many different colors of paint that you have on your palette, but how you select and mix them to create a masterpiece. The art of the mix is an area in which our DJs excel!

In 2011, Ambient DJ introduced an online planning interface that allows clients to browse our music database from the comfort of their own home, selecting songs according to a color code system (Green= Must Play, Yellow= Play if Possible, Red- Do Not Play).

For weddings, we arrive at least 90 minutes in advance of the scheduled start time to allow a comfortable load-in and setup. For private parties, we typically arrive about one hour prior to the start of the party.

Yes, as required by the region’s finer banquet halls, we carry liability insurance underwritten by Penn-America Group, Inc. for up to $1,000,000 per covered incident, and $2,000,000 in aggregate. Proof of insurance can be provided upon request.

Yes, Ambient DJ is a member of the New Jersey Disc Jockey Network (NJDJN), an industry group dedicated to continuing education and best business, ethical and performance standards. Ambients’ DJs attend the annual DJ Times International DJ Expo in Atlantic City to partake of educational seminars related to our industry and stay at the top of our games.

We are also a member of the Mercer Regional Chamber of Commerce (MRCC) and a platinum member of the Northern New Jersey Wedding and Events Professionals (NNJWEP).

We do not allow visitors for wedding receptions/formal events, in order to preserve the sanctity of the event. For general parties, we allow guests, subject to the consent of the party host. You are also welcome to catch up with us at our periodic lounge performances. We occasionally perform at bridal expos.

Many prospective wedding clients find it useful to meet with us in-person to discuss their event details and meet their prospective DJ. At these consultations, we do not pressure you or use any “hard closing” techniques. We prefer that you carefully consider your entertainment options and book us once realizing that Ambient DJ is the best choice.

We recommend booking your wedding or formal event 12-18 months prior to the event date in order to insure that your desired performer is available. With the soft economic times of recent years, we have noticed a trend in shorter lead times between the booking date and party date. Our peak months are April-July, October, and December.
