DJ of the Month – Dre Ovalle

In this periodic feature, we like to highlight entertainers from our roster of talent who are doing great things.  Andre Ovalle, aka DJ Dre Ovalle (pronounced o-vah-yay) joined the Ambient DJ roster in early 2016.  We initially connected with Dre while he was spinning a set at Lolie’s Ale House in Philadelphia at an underground electronica party with Linda Leigh and other guest DJs.  In between sets, we had a great conversation at the bar and decided to schedule a time to chat more formally.

Dre has the gift of music, and his quest for musical knowledge knows no bounds.  In addition to the popular music genres, Dre is well-versed in lesser known categories like industrial, heavy metal and Polish disco music.  An ideal opportunity to check out his musical versatility and super smooth mixing skills is at the Trenton Social each Sunday night from 6 PM until close where he and Linda Leigh trade sets in true open format.  This party is the best musical offering in Central NJ at present.

Dre is also a frequent DJ at silent disco parties, and as a native Spanish speaker is a specialist in international events like Latin weddings and Quinceaneras.

Other reasons that we love having Dre on our team include his machine-like work ethic and genuine love of performing, sense of team spirit and dedication to improving his skills.  Most recently, Dre crushed the dance floor at a multi-cultural wedding in Weehawken, and also assisted at an ambitious Filipino birthday party in Union.  Dre is currently taking lessons to speak Polish and loves to cook in his free time!

As 2017 progresses, we look forward to offering Dre progressively more challenging events.
