Alternative Rock Wedding Cocktail Hour Playlist

We love wedding cocktail hours with their delicious appetizers, sophisticated cocktails and cool soundscapes. Therefore, we have declared the week of February 18, 2013 as “Wedding Cocktail Hour Week.” Over the next seven days, we will share ten wedding cocktail hour playlists selected by our Ambient DJ Music Mixologists. Each DJ has also selected a matching liquid refreshment to compliment the vibe of his playlist!

First up, it’s our DJ Gregg Ambient with an Alternative Rock Cocktail Hour inspired by recent wedding DJ experiences in Brooklyn and Philadelphia. His selected liquid libation is a craft beer from Sixpoint brewed in the gritty Red Hook neighborhood in Brooklyn (also home to Knicks star Carmelo Anthony!)

Gregg’s programming approach to wedding cocktail hours is to start on a mellow note as guests walk into an empty space and get situated. As the hour progresses and drinks start to kick in, the music selections shift from atmospheric to more upbeat. The tail end of a DJ Gregg Ambient cocktail hour often incorporates a dance track or two, setting the stage for the festive wedding reception party to follow.
